RSIPF officers’ complete level II Basic Investigation Course

A course participant received his certificate from Operation Manager Honiara City Police

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) successfully completed its Level II Basic Investigations Course (BIC) during a closing ceremony held at Rove police headquarters on Friday, 27 November 2025.

The event was attended by the RAPPP Commander, RSIPF executive representatives, officers from the Learning & Development Department, and RAPPP trainers.

During the closing ceremony, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime and Intelligence Ms. Patricia Leta acknowledged the significant contributions from the training team and the hard work of the graduating officers and also thanked those who contributed time, expertise, and support to make this course possible."

The Level II BIC is regarded as a vital milestone in the journey of these officers. The course demanded rigorous standards of accuracy, discipline, attention to detail, and strong investigative thinking.

“Your successful completion is a reflection of your commitment to professional growth and service to our communities,” AC Leta said.

Ms. Leta said, “Investigation work lies at the heart of public trust in the RSIPF. When we respond to crime with competence, integrity, and fairness, we strengthen the confidence of the people we serve.”

“The RSIPF is dedicated to uplifting organizational capability through comprehensive training programs. You are expected to apply what you have learned consistently in your respective stations and provinces, which includes proper note-taking, accurate statements, and respectful interactions with victims and witnesses. These standards are fundamental to building trust within the communities you serve,” said Leta.”

The Level II BIC aligns with RSIPF's broader development goals, including the Detective Pathway and the Investigations Career Pathway.

Today's graduates will play an important role in lifting standards and supporting their colleagues across the country.

Special appreciation was given to the Learning & Development instructors and RAPPP trainers for their dedication to high-quality policing education. "Thank you for lifting the standard of investigations within RSIPF," AC Leta expressed.
