Police appeal to wife of a police officer who mistreat her to open case for further investigation

Police are appealing to the wife of a police officer who allegedly mistreated her to open a case against her husband for further investigation.

The appeal came after a post went viral on social media about her wife, who allegedly kicked her out from their house.

RSIPF Acting Commissioner Mr. Mathias Lenialu said this is really a sad situation that demands the wife to come forward and file a complaint with police so that police can investigate it properly.

Commissioner Lenialu said when a case is opened, an investigation will be carried out to find out what is really happening between the wife and the husband. From here, then, we could make a decision.

Mr. Lenialu said at this stage it is too early to make a conclusion on this matter. A proper investigation needs to be established for my office to make a decision. Bringing such matter to social media won’t help to deal with the issue. It will only bring negative comments on the family, which is not good.

Mr. Lenialu said the police is a disciplined organization that always strives to uphold its core values in order to maintain the integrity and ethical standards of its police officers.

Mr. Lenialu said the officer who works at the Police Prosecution Department of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) with such actions is not speaking well as an officer of the crown.

“It was alleged that the officer kicked out his wife and a small newborn baby from their house, and they slept on the street. The latest incident was his wife sleeping with her small baby at NPF Plaza (Anthony Sau building),” said the police chief.
