Australian Federal Police (AFP) advisors marked Christmas Day by sharing Christmas meal packs with RSIPF officers who remained on duty across police stations in Honiara.
Christmas Day is traditionally a time for families to gather and celebrate together. However, RSIPF officers continued to work throughout the day to maintain public safety, respond to incidents, and ensure communities could celebrate the festive season peacefully.
AFP’s initiative, through the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), recognizes the commitment and professionalism of officers who carried out their duties during the holiday period.
The Christmas meal packs consisted of sausages, bread rolls, buns, and juice and provided officers a chance to pause, share a meal with colleagues, and experience a sense of the Christmas spirit while on duty.
The activity forms part of the AFP’s broader commitment to supporting the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officers, not only through operational and capacity-building assistance, but also by promoting officer wellbeing and morale.
Small initiatives such as this contribute to strengthening trust, teamwork, and positive working relationships within police stations.
RAPPP is a police-to-police partnership between the RSIPF and the AFP, working collaboratively to support policing services, enhance professional development, and strengthen law enforcement cooperation in the Solomon Islands.
By recognizing officers who worked through Christmas Day, the initiative highlighted the dedication of RSIPF members who put public service first, even during important family celebrations.
AFP continues to support RSIPF through initiatives that value professionalism, partnership, and the well-being of those who serve the community year-round.
