A total of 35 Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) instructors have completed a 4-day Moderate Law Enforcement Training to boost its capabilities.
The training was jointly organized by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT), which started on 3 March and finished on 6 March 2026 with a certificate presentation.
The training aims to build a bridge for law enforcement exchanges, help the RSIPF improve the standardization level of law enforcement, and effectively ensure law enforcement safety and the legitimate rights and interests of law enforcement objectives.
Centered on the core principle of ‘minimum harm,' the training focuses on the practical application of moderate law enforcement.
The core goal of this training is to adopt gentle and appropriate on-site law enforcement methods to avoid casualties caused by excessive use of force or insufficient protective measures and to fully protect the legitimate rights and interests of law enforcement objectives while building a solid safety line for law enforcement officers themselves.
The participants were enthusiastic and fully engaged throughout the training, strictly abiding by the training discipline and taking the initiative to exchange and discuss law enforcement difficulties. This has effectively strengthened their awareness of conducting law enforcement in accordance with the "minimum harm" principle and significantly improved their practical ability in moderate law enforcement.
To stimulate the learning enthusiasm of the participants and test the training effect, selection activities for the best disciplinary team and the best case were carried out simultaneously during the training.
The participants were divided into groups, and the best disciplinary team was selected based on the implementation of training and the spiritual outlook of the team members. Each group carried out law enforcement case sharing and scenario demonstration combined with the training content and daily law enforcement experience.
At the closing ceremony, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Corporate Support Mr. James Teilo commended the participants for their commitment and dedication in successfully completing this intensive upskilling program.
AC Teilo said the training equips officers to carry out their duties professionally, effectively, and with courage in line with RSIPF standing orders, policies, and the National Constitution of the Solomon Islands.
He also expressed sincere gratitude to all those who worked behind the scenes to ensure the training achieved its intended objectives and encouraged participants to serve the community with pride and respect using their newly acquired skills and knowledge.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) CPLT, Guan Kang, said the moderate law enforcement concept and practical experience shared in the training will help RSIPF further reduce law enforcement injuries, lower law enforcement costs, and enhance frontline law enforcement capabilities.
DC Kang also urged the participants to pass on what they have learned to their colleagues to promote the overall improvement of RSIPF's law enforcement capabilities.
Trainees and participants fully affirmed the remarkable effectiveness of this training. And highly praised the outstanding learning outcomes of all participants. Expressing sincere expectations for the in-depth development of follow-up law enforcement exchange and cooperation. The participants awarded training with certificates and honorary prizes to the winning teams.
