Husband assists wife to stab a 27-year-old girl in Honiara.

A husband assisted his wife in stabbing a 27-year-old girl at Lau Valley, in east Honiara, on 17 July 2026.

The incident happened at around 9pm after the 27-year-old girl received a phone call from the suspect (husband) asking her to meet them.

It was alleged that upon her arrival, the male suspect allegedly restrained the victim while his wife stabbed her several times using a pair of scissors.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Acting Commissioner Mr James Aitorea said the victim sustained multiple injuries on her left arm, back and leg during the stabbing incident.

“Thanks to the timely assistance of the Lau Valley Crime Prevention Committee (CPC) for helping to prevent further harm to the young girl,” said the acting commissioner, Aitorea.

Commissioner Aitorea said Lau Valley CPC contacted Naha Police, and officers from the Central Response Unit (CRU) attended the scene, and the victim was transported to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) for medical treatment and was in a stable condition.

Mr Aitorea said both suspects fled the scene before police arrived and are currently at large. I appeal for their voluntary surrender or anybody who has information of their whereabouts to inform the police for further dealings.

The new acting police chief thanked the Lau Valley CPC for their swift response, commitment, and dedication in assisting to protect the victim and support the police during the incident.

Investigation into the stabbing incident is continuing on.
