A 41 year-old man was arrested by police in Gizo, Western Province on 02 January 2018 for alleged Attempted Murder and Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm allegations.
It was alleged the man committed the incidents against two men the day before his arrest at Vanga Rural Training Centre (RTC), Kolobangara Island, in the Western Province.
The man was taken to Gizo Magistrate court on 03 January for a remand application and the Court ordered for his remand at Gizo Correctional Service of Solomon Island (CSSI) for the next 14 days and expected to appear before the same Court on 17 of this month.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “I appeal to relatives of both the two victims and the man not to resolve to any form of violence, instead allow the police to continue with its investigation.”
“I also appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward to Gizo police and assist with whatever information,” adds PPC Lenialu.
