RSIPF monitors “kingdom” movement

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is gathering information and monitoring the so-called church movement called “kingdom” by a certain group of people in Malaita Province, as reported in the local media.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Timothy Apaesi says, “My officers are gathering information about the alleged church movement and sale of properties by members of the movement.”

PPC Apaesi adds, “In the meantime, I call on members of the public and communities in Malaita Province to assist the police with more information on the suggestion that there may be an uprising which could result in public disorder in the province.”

“I appeal to people in Malaita Province to always abide by the law and should not take the law into their own hands in any event.”

People with information on the movement can get in touch with Auki Police on phones 40132 or 40489. They can also contact the RSIPF Communication Centre on phone 23666 or the police toll free 999.
