Police at the Malu’u Police Station in North Malaita, Malaita Province have arrested a 19- year-old man on 14 January 2018 following an alleged break-in into a Malaita provincial government house at the Station.
Police alleged the man stole valuable properties worth around $1,750.00 from the house.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Malaita Province, Superintendent Timothy Apaesi says, “I appeal to members of the communities in Malu’u to work together with the police for a safer community in supplying information about the alleged incident.”
“I call on community leaders to create activities for our youth so as to distract them from involving in criminal activities including stealing,” says PPC Apaesi.
The police was expected to bring the suspect before the Magistrates Court in Auki today (15/01/2018) for a remand application.
Police continue their investigation into the matter.
