RSIPF officers confiscate kwaso at Honiara Central Market

Police officers posted at the Honiara Central Market Police Post confiscated 32 bottles of kwaso at the Market on 9 February 2018.

The bottles of kwaso were confiscated after members of the public reported to police that there are some people selling the illegal brew inside the vicinity of the Market.

“My officers including few Honiara City Council (HCC) law enforcers responded to reports received from members of the public and dealt with those involved,” says Provincial Police Commander, Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga.

He adds: “We will continue to work with the City Council law enforcers to curb such illegal activities including the sale of kwaso and marijuana inside the Honiara Central Market area.”

“I want to thank the public for their assistance, the HCC law enforcement officers and my officers for a job well done so far,” says PPC Uiga.

Chief Superintendent Uiga adds: “I encourage members of the public who have information on illegal activities being conducted within the Honiara Central Market area to report to the Market Police post which is located inside the HCC building at the Market.”
