Police in Tulagi, Central Islands Province, arrested a 43-year-old man on 12 February for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old boy at Burungia village two days earlier.
“It is alleged that the suspect was drunk when he allegedly stabbed the victim on his buttock using a small kitchen knife,” says Staff Sergeant Measly Kelo Veets, Operation Manager at the Tulagi Police Station.
He adds: “We responded to the report and arrested the suspect where he was dealt with accordingly whilst the victim is still at the hospital undergoing treatment.”
Staff Sergeant Veet says, “I appeal to both parties not to take the law into their own hands but to allow police to carry out its investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call Tulagi Police on phone 32999.”
