Work of Police in Temotu Province boosted with new stabi craft

Communities in Temotu Province will benefit from a stabi craft handed over to police at the Lata Police Station on 25 April 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent James Toaki received the key for the stabi craft from Mr Abel Gilbert from the Solomon Island Police Development Program (SIPDP) with sea safety equipment. Mr Gilbert also handed over a 40-horse power Yamaha engine that will be allocated to the Peu Police Post on Vanikoro Island.

PPC Toaki says, “I am happy and grateful with the logistic support especially with the new stabi craft I received and I would like to thank the RSIPF executive and SIPDP for quickly responding to our request for assistance.”

Superintendent Toaki says, “Not only the boat will assist police with its operations but it will assist people of Temotu Province when there is a need since the Province is made up of scattered islands.”

He adds: “I am glad that the stabi craft also comes with sea safety equipment for my officers who will operate the stabi craft. The boat can carry a number of officers during police operations and duties.”

PPC Toaki says, “The stabi craft will only be used during operations that we will not be able to use the other boats that we already have as we need to utilise the stabi craft wisely.”
