More than 400 people at Bola Village and surrounding communities in Big Ngella in Central Province have benefitted from the presence and awareness talks by police from the Tulagi Police Station during a church program on 4 May 2018.
The Bola Community organized the program to raise funds for a new chapel.
“We were happy to respond to a request from the Bola Community to provide visibility and conduct awareness talks. My officers who attended the church program conducted awareness talks covering topics including family violence, alcohol, marijuana and kwaso as part of the roll out of the Crime Prevention Strategy,” says Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta.
PPC Leta adds: “I wish to thank the people of Bola Village and surrounding communities for their outstanding behavior during the church program. It went smoothly without any incident. I want to invite other communities in Central Province who are planning similar community programs to invite your police at Tulagi to conduct awareness talks while providing visibility at the same time.”
Superintendent Leta says, “Feedback received from chiefs and elders of Bola Village and the organizing committee for the church program is that they really appreciated the presence of the police and awareness talks with the program ending peacefully.”
“I also want to thank my officers who were involved in the Bola Village program for a job well done,” says PPC Leta.
