Police at the Tulagi Police Station, Central Province have arrested a 43-year-old male for sale of Liquor (beer) without license and has been charged to appear before court on 16 July 2018.
It is alleged that on 9 May 2018, the man sold Liquor (beer) without a license at Toa Village on Small Ngella Island.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “Yesterday my officers responded to information provided by public and confiscated a good number of alcohol including beer and spirits which will become court exhibits.
“There are alleged illegal beer outlets within the Florida islands in the Central Province and police are investigating this and once there is enough evidence my officers will act on it and bring any alleged person involved to face the law,” says PPC Leta.
PPC Leta adds, “To public in Central Province, you are reminded that selling beer without a valid license is illegal. Occasional beer licenses can be obtained at the office of the Provincial Treasurer upon my endorsement as the Vice Chairperson of the Central Province Liquor Board. I wish to appeal to my good people of Central Province not to be involved in these illegal activities.”
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to all members of the Crime Prevention Committees, church leaders, women leaders and chiefs throughout the Province for your hard work in providing information on such illegal activities within your communities. You are all doing a great job to keep our communities safe from such illegal behaviours,” says Superintendent Leta.
