The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force(RSIPF), Matthew Varley has congratulated the Provincial Police Commander, Makira-Ulawa Province and his officers for the work they have done to maintain law and order in that Province despite the some challenges.
Commissioner Varley addressed the police officers at the Kirakira Police Station during a brief visit on 22-23 May on the way back from the opening of a new police station on Ulawa Island.
“I wish to congratulate you all under the leadership of your PPC and other senior officers for the work you have done and continue to do in keeping law and order in Makira-Ulawa Province despite some of the challenges you face. I want to encourage you all to work together with your PPC to implement important policies of the RSIPF including the Crime Prevention Strategy,” says Commissioner Varley.
He adds: “I am glad that I am able to visit Kirakira and of course attend the opening of the Taheramo Police Station on Ulawa.”
Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent Peter Sitai thanked the RSIPF Commissioner for visiting Kirakira Police Station.
“Your coming here is seen as a significant event for policing in Makira-Ulawa Province. It is significant as during this trip we witnessed the opening of the police station at Taheramo on Ulawa. This is only the third police station in this Province,” says PPC Sitai.
Superintendent Sitai says, “It is also a privilege that my officers are able to discuss with you some of the important issues affecting them as police officers serving in this province.”
