Police at Tulagi in the Central Province conducted a community awareness talk at Ghumba Village on Big Ngella between 8 and 9 June 2018.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “The messages delivered during the two days were on the ongoing engagement with stakeholders and communities to fight against crime.”
Superintendent Leta says, “The topics covered during the awareness talk included the four main drivers of crime and how to jointly address them with the Police. This is part of the ongoing Crime Prevention Strategy to tackle crime in order to build stronger and safer communities.”
PPC Leta adds: “The program was organized and attended by Mothers Union of Hagalu Village on Big Ngella and Ghumba community of Small Ngella to exchange gifts such as food and cooking utensils as part of their Church outreach program.”
Ms Leta says, “I wish to thank all mothers for the invitation made for my Training Officer, Constable Mathew Mumane to conduct the talk during the program. It is a great opportunity for them to understand their role as women leaders.”
