Police officers at the Gizo Police Station in Western Province mounted a guard of honour for the new premier for Western Province soon after his election today (3 July 2018).
“The election of the new premier has been anticipated by the people of Western Province following the recent provincial assembly election. It is indeed a great honour for me and my officers to mount a guard of honour to welcome the new premier for Western Province,” says Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent, Mathias Lenialu.
He says, “I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the new premier of Western Province Hon. David Gina and I thank the former Premier, Wayne Maepio.”
He adds: “The police in Western Province look forward to working closely with the new premier and his executive for the betterment of the people of the Province.”
“The election of the new premier and announcement was completed peacefully. For this I like to thank the people of Western Province, particularly here in Gizo for their excellent behaviour throughout the election process,” says PPC Lenialu.
