Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Makira-Ulawa Province Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “Members of the PRT from Police Headquarters in Honiara supported by my officers here in Kirakira arrested the suspect who has been on the run since 6 June 2018.”
Superintendent Sitai explains, “The alleged suspect had set fire to a 40 horse power engine and a 24-feet banana boat the property of Solomon Islands government under custody of RSIPF Makira at the Karie Sea Port in the East Makira Constituency.
PPC Sitai says, “I would like to commend the understanding and help of the public in assisting the police in their work making possible the arrest of the suspect.”
“I appeal to the general public in and around Makira Ulawa Province to support the police with information relating to crime as this is the only way that we will minimize criminal activities in our communities. Harbouring criminals or law breakers is a crime and anyone found doing this will be arrested to face the full force of law,” says PPC Sitai.
