Police praised for providing high visibility at Pana Festival in Central Province

Police at Tulagi in the Central Province have been praised for providing a high visibility presence during the Pana Festival at Haroro Village in Sand Fly on 6 July.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “Chairman of the Pana Festival Organizing Committee, Mr Peter Sagupari commended and acknowledged police at Tulagi for a job well done during the Festival.”

PPC Leta says, “Sergeant Joseph Devu from Tulagi Police Station, who was in charge of the officers at the Festival, also thanked the Chairman and all who attended the Pana Festival for their good behavior resulting in a successful crime free program.”

“I wish to thank my hard working officers who responded to my call to attend the Festival regardless of the bad weather. I encourage other communities to behave in a peaceful manner whenever there is any big gathering or activities organized in your villages,” Ms Leta emphasizes.

About a thousand people from the surrounding communities and visitors from Honiara attended the Pana Festival.
