Police at Auki in Malaita Province have arrested a 24-year-old suspect for the allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Auki on 9 August 2018.
Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita, Superintendent Timothy Apaesi says, “The incident was reported to police and my officers arrested the suspect on 15 August 2018.”
PPC Apaesi says, “The accused was arrested and charged for alleged rape and will appear in Court on 22 August 2018.”
Superintendent Apaesi says, “I appeal to both parties in this alleged incident to refrain from taking the law into their own hands but allow the police to deal with the matter.”
