RSIPF officers’ farewell a fallen colleague

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have farewelled their late colleague officer Police Constable Zephaniah Rangi in a moving sending out service at the All Saints Parish church in Honiara on 21 August 2018.

Police officers, family members and relatives gathered at the Parish to bid their last farewell to a fallen colleague.

Speaking at the sending out service Supervising Police Commissioner, Juanita Matanga says, “It is sad to know the untimely passing away of one of our very own and we are lost for words. Today we are here to bid farewell to him as a brother and a close friend.”

Commissioner Matanga says, “Late Police Constable Rangi was a dedicated and hardworking officer and will always be remembered for his service to the organisation and the country as a whole and has touched so many lives through his work.”

She adds: “To his family members, thank you for your understanding in availing your son, husband and father to his operational duties that was mostly spent at sea.”

“This is a great loss for the RSIPF Maritime Unit, but his legacy will always be remembered fondly by his colleagues,” says Madam Matanga.
“Late Constable Rangi RSIPF salutes you, so long and may your soul rest in eternal peace,” says Commissioner Matanga.

The body of the late Rangi was transported to his village at Nukufero, in the Russell Islands, Central Province, on board the Police Patrol Boat Auki where he served until he passed away on Sunday 19 August after a short illness.
