Police in Central Province have conducted awareness talks at Paposi Primary School and Paibeta Community High school on Savo Island on 29 August 2018.
Topics presented during the awareness talk include what is law, what are the three sources of Laws in connection to the School rules, anti-social behavior and leading drivers of crime like marijuana, kwaso and alcohol.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “Deputy Headmaster of Paposi Primary School Billy Oiofah thanked Tulagi Police for the awareness talks and in particular for presenting the sport kits. He says, they will always remember Police in whatever they do.”
PPC Leta adds: “Paibeta Community High School Principal David Hoe also thanked police for the timely awareness talks and the wonderful gifts they received.”
She says, “McMahon Community High School in Tulagi also already received one sport kit from Tulagi police. Three other schools in Russell Islands will receive their sport kits as soon as arrangements are finalised for awareness talks to be conducted at the schools.”
“I would like to thank the Solomon Island Police Development Program (SIPDP) for providing the sport kits. It is part of the Crime Prevention Strategy to unite communities and schools to work in partnership with each other,” says PPC Leta.
Superintendent Leta says, “I also wish to thank my officers for spending at least two days with our good people in Savo Island.”
The sport kits donated to the schools include a pump, a volley ball net, a volley ball and a soccer ball.
