Police at Tulagi in the Central Province has conducted an awareness talk for youth members of the United Church in Tulagi 11 September 2018.
Provincial Police Commander(PPC) Central Province, Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “The messages delivered during the awareness talk included law and order, anti-social behaviour covering marijuana, kwaso, alcohol involving youth, sexual offences, family violence and the three sources of law in Solomon Islands.
During the presentation, PPC Leta also acknowledged that the church is one of the stakeholders which support the Police so much in their prayers and preaching peace to their congregations.
“The awareness talk was conducted following a request made by the United Church Pastor Benisi who thanked police for the educational talks which will help greatly help his youth members to develop as good ambassadors in the country,” says PPC Leta.
She adds: “The awareness talk is part of the ongoing roll out of the Crime Prevention Strategy to prevent crime in order to build stronger and safer communities.”
“The awareness talks will continue in the communities, churches and schools. This is to build public confidence and for public to understand its role in supporting police,” says PPC Leta.
