Furona Primary School in Isabel Province has benefited from an awareness talk conducted by Deputy Commissioner Operations of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) during a tour to the Province recently.
Deputy Commissioner Operations (DC) Gabriel Manelusi says, “Topics covered during the presentation include discipline and respect of families, school rules, church, traditional leadership, custom rules, national laws within our communities and nation Solomon Islands.”
DC Manelusi says, “I would like to encourage our children to be ambassadors of Solomon Islands in our growth and how we project our nation and our province Isabel for nation building.”
Mr Manelusi says, “Three sources of laws in our country that we must adhere to shape our individual behaviour including:
• Divine Law-Gods law;
• Custom Laws-Rules, looked after by traditional leaders and chiefs; and
• The Solomon Islands National Constitution.”
Teachers of Furona Primary School acknowledged DC Manelusi for visiting their school and educating their children.
The Headmaster of Furona Primary School, Fox Raru also thanked DC Manelusi for conducting separate meetings with his staff reminding them in their code of conduct as teacher and the expectation of the communities.”
