Police in Central Province provide high visibility presence during visit of cruise ship

Police in Central Province were able to provide high visibility presence during the visit of a cruise ship to Roderick Bay in Big Gela on 12 September 2018.

About 200 passengers from France were on the Austrian tourist boat when it stopped briefly at Roderick Bay.

President of the Central Province Tourist Association, Patrick Sara commended the Police for a job well done. He also extended his appreciation to Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province for allowing her officers to be present when the cruise boat visited. Mr Sara was reported as saying that without the presence of the police things would have gone the way it did.

PPC Central Province Superintendent Patricia Leta says, “I wish to thank the surrounding communities at Roderick Bay for their outstanding behaviour during the visit of the cruise boat. Please maintain it so that we will continue to attract tourists to our peaceful Florida Islands.”

PPC Leta adds: “Police officers in Central Province are committed to providing a presence during such big gatherings. All communities are reminded to invite police if they wish. This is an ongoing effort by police to prevent crime from happening during any such big gatherings.”
