RSIPF officially open AAR program

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officially opened the Accountability, Authority and Responsibility (AAR) program for its officers today 16 October 2018 at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

Managing Director of New Intelligence Company Steve Longford says, “Today I saw officers of the RSIPF deliver a training program that has been more than four years in the making. Inspector Hansel Saeni and Sergeant Mary Ake are the first independent certified trainers in the Pacific region to deliver this program call AAR-Making Decision in a Law Enforcement Environment.”

Mr Longford adds: “This is a great moment for the Solomon Islands and a showcase for those officers who are committed, proud and dedicated to their country and their people. These officers are an example for the others and they are the future of the RSIPF. Nine officers have been certified as trainers and another four officers as mentors in the RSIPF.”

He says, “The program started through the Regional Assistant Mission to Solomon Island (RAMSI) in 2014 was delivered by an Australian company, New Intelligence. In 2016 fourteen RSIPF officers were selected to go through a long process to become trainers.”

"This is a proud moment for these officers and the RSIPF to deliver the program by themselves. This training started here in the Solomon Islands and now it is being taken up by other nations like Tonga, Cook Islands, Tuvalu and even Papuan New Guinea," says Mr Longford.
