Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force(RSIPF) today observed a one-minute silence during the weekly Commissioner’s parade at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara in honour Woman Police Constable Belinda Alemae who passed away at Munda, Western Province on 30 October 2018.
The late Constable Alemae, 36, was posted at the Munda Police Station when she passed away at the Helena Goldie Hospital after a short illness. Her body was buried after a funeral service at her village of Kidu, Munda on 31 October 2018.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police and all officers of the RSIPF at the funeral service, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Superintendent Solomon Sisimia paid tribute to the late Alemae.
“The passing away of late Woman Police Constable Belinda Alemae denied her long and dedicated career. Let me assure the relatives and friends this afternoon that the RSIPF salute her and will continue to remember the legacy she has left behind, her positive contributions to the RSIPF to provide leadership in frontline duties both in Honiara and Western province where she had served and spent most of her good time.”
AC Sisimia continues: “We valued so much the contributions of the late Police Constable Alemae to the RSIPF and the people of Solomon Islands. The length of time she served in the RSIPF was highly commendable and honored by all ranks and files of the RSIPF for she unselfishly gave herself to serving the people of this country by enlisting into the RSIPF to protect life and property and to maintain law and order.”
“It is sad to note that her unfortunate passing away caught her quickly and took her life. Her passing away is not only a loss to you the husband and children, relatives and communities of Kidu village, Munda, but also a great loss to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force,’ says AC Sisimia.
The late PC Alemae was recruited into the RSIPF in February 2006 and has served in various positions in the Force while posted in Honiara before she was transferred to the Munda Police Station in November 2017.
