66 RSIPF officers receive new operational equipment for upcoming operations

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province have been issued with new operational equipment in preparation for security operations during the Christmas festive season and National General Election 2019 today (12 November 2018).

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province Timothy Apaesi says, “A total of 66 officers were issued with new operational equipment after they completed requalifying refresher training three weeks ago. I am confident that with the skills they have gained they will be able to handle any situation encountered in the field.”

PPC Apaesi adds: “My officers have been issued with batons, OC spray, flexi cuffs and cutters as part of their personal issue for police duty.”

Superintendent Apaesi says, “I am very happy that my officers have been issued with the equipment before the Christmas festive season and the National General Election 2019. This will assist them to carry out their duties in the field effectively especially when confronting any tense situation.”

“I appeal to my good officers who have been issued with the equipment to be accountable for the items. It is your responsibility to take care of them. The equipment will help you carry out your duties as police officers,” says PPC Apaesi.
