A 19-yo-old male suspect arrested for arm robbery
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) arrested a 19-yo-old male suspect in relation to the arm robbery at Capital Park, East of Honiara on 22 December 2018.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Police Station, Superintendent Barry Rush Saukiu says, “The suspect was arrested yesterday at Point Cruz area and currently under police custody for further dealings.”
PPC Saukiu says, “Police also confiscate a homemade modified gun with 3 bullets which police allegedly believe to be use during the arm robbery.”
Mr Saukiu says, “Other four suspects escape police during the arrest at the Point Cruz area but we are still working on information gathered to capture them.”
He says “It is further alleged that during the arm robbery a man with firearm walk towards the cashier surrendered him with the gun while another two men walk to the cash money and took it away. Shortly after they walk out and escape down to Burns Creek settlement.”
The arm robbery incident occurred on Saturday (22 December 2018) morning at about 7:45 am at the Capital Park in East of Honiara Capital.
“I appeal to Chiefs, Church leaders and the communities of Burns Creek to support Police with information where about those who involved in the arm robbery to assist police with the investigation.
