The RSIPF is currently investigating a robbery on the Bank of South Pacific branch, Auki, Malaita Province. The Robbery is believed to have occurred about 11.30 am on Friday 27 November 2015.
The robbery was allegedly conducted by 3 masked men, one of whom was armed. Auki Police responded to the robbery and confronted the three men.
During this confrontation the three men are alleged to have threatened Police with the firearm and two shots was fired, believed to be into the air. The men then escaped north from Auki in a vehicle they are alleged to have stolen earlier.
This vehicle later suffered mechanical difficulties and the men are now believed to be on foot.
RSIPF with the assistance of the Participating Police Force (PPF) are currently searching for the men and investigations into the robbery are underway.
Significant additional RSIPF and PPF resources are being deployed to assist Auki police with this operation.
If members of the public spot these three men they are advised not to approach them but call the police immediately on 23666 or Auki Police Station on 40132.
