Western Province communities thank police for awareness
Communities of Ranogga and Simbo were happy with the police for there continues visitation and conducted awareness talks to their communities during the festive season.
On the 27 December 2018, Gizo Police officers had been deployed to communities in Ranogga and Simbo as part of community visitation and conducted awareness talk during the festive season.
Communities visited on Ranogga Island are Lale, Konqu,Paqe, Babagea and Koriovuku. Each communities were engaged in their respective Christmas programmes except for Babagea village host a beach soccer competition which attracts a big number of people. In each communities police officers conduct awareness talk based on the message crime free festive season.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Lenialu says, “Community chiefs and elders of each communities were really happy to see police presence in their communities and they also thanked the officers for the awareness conducted.”
PPC Lenialu says, “At Lengana Village in Simbo Island, officers also conduct awareness talk while on visitation. A programme hosted by group called Simbo Women in Business under the theme ‘cultural arts and music’, this programme attracts a lot people around the communities in Simbo Island. The main guest of Honour is the Western Provincial Premier Mr David Gina and the Director of Peace and Reconciliation Mr Reuben Lilo.”
The Crime Prevention Chairman (CPC) for Lengana Village Mr. Homelton Tonga want to thank the police officers for their presence during the event while the guest of honour during the programme, a high dignitary person in the Western Provincial Government and at the Ministerial level also thanked the police for the awareness conducted for the education of the most vulnerable on crime.
