Another armed robbery at Capital Park arrested
Police this week arrest and charge another suspect for armed robbery of Capital Park that happen on 22 December 2018 in East Honiara.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara, Superintendent Barry Rush Saukiu says, “The 19-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday night, 4 January 2019 at Henderson area in East of Honiara, in a public transport.”
“The suspect was formally charged on 5 January 2019 with one count of robbery pursuant section 293 (1) (a) of the Penal Code, and my officers escorted him to court for remand application, which the application was granted. He was remanded by the Honiara Central Magistrate for fourteen days in custody. One more suspect is still on the run, and my officers are working on information of his whereabouts,” says PPC Saukiu.
Superintendent Saukiu says, “I would like to thank my hard working officers involved in the investigation of this case, and officers involved in the arrest. At the same time I acknowledges and thank members of the public in providing information to police, that result to the successful arrest of the man.”
Supervising PPC Saukiu appeals to chiefs, church leaders and the communities of Burns Creek area in East Honiara and nearby communities to come forward with any information to assist the police investigation.
