The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Media Unit continues to promote the work of the Force with the production of over 700 media releases in 2018, doubling the number produced during the previous year.

Addressing the local media during the weekly media conference at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara today (17 January 2019) Supervising Commissioner of RSIPF Juanita Matanga says, “The RSIPF Media Unit last year 2018 produced 724 media releases compared to 312 media releases in 2017 despite the limited resources that the Unit has.”

She says, “The media releases covered most crimes that were investigated by the RSIPF and appeals by police about peoples’ safety. We want to thank all the media organisations both in Solomon Islands and in the region for disseminating these messages to the public.”

“We are really happy about the feedback from the public accessing our Facebook page. The comments help us to see what the public think of its police. However I would like to appeal to the public not to use abusive language when making comments,” says Supervising Commissioner Matanga.

The RSIPF Facebook page has 9,886 likes and 9,966 followers as at 15 January 2019, and the number is increasing every day.

This Facebook page is purposely to promote the work of the RSIPF, and to get views of the public who access internet and love using Facebook to be able see the work of the RSIPF. The RSIPF website (www.rsipf.gov.sb) also carries the same information posted on our Facebook.
