Eight suspect arrested in Choiseul
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Choiseul Province made a total of eight arrests during the period 17 – 30 January 2019 for various offences.
The various offences include one person for intimidation on 17 January 2019, five people for restriction on making liquor from 19-25 January 2019, one for simple larceny (stealing of general property) on 23 January 2019, and one for wilful and unlawful damage of property on 28 January 2019.
The eights suspects have been charged and released on bail to appear before a Magistrate scheduled tour of Choiseul Province
Provincial Police Commander, Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says,
“A total of 13 reports of incidences were attended by officers for the period, and a total of 16 cases registered. Eight of these registered cases are still being investigated before arrests could be made. My officers also conducted five community awareness talks during the same period.”
“I would like to thank my hard working officers for their work and at the same time acknowledge the support from members of the communities in Choiseul Province for work of the police in the province,” says PPC Eria.
Superintendent Eria appeals to communities in Choiseul Province to continue to support his officers to ensure crime is minimised in that province.
